2015
Organized by the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada
2015 marked the fiftieth anniversary of the Department of Art & Design at the University of Alberta and the forty-fifth anniversary of its studio Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program, the oldest in Canada. From 1970 to 2015, more than ninety students earned MFA degrees from the department’s internationally renowned printmaking division, and many have moved on to highly successful careers as artists, teachers, writers, and curators around the world. From Time to Time was organized as part of the Department of Art & Design’s fiftieth anniversary celebrations to honor the team of professors, contract instructors, technicians, and artists-in-residence who have contributed to the success of the printmaking program since its inception and to acknowledge the role of University of Alberta Professor Emeritus (1971–2006), Walter Jule, recipient of the 2015 Southern Graphics Council International Teaching Excellence Award.
