Organized by Assistant Professor Erik Waterkotte, UNC Charlotte, Charlotte, NC, USA, and Assistant Professor Shannon Collis, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA

Held in conjunction with the sesquicentennial year of Illinois State University, the Frontiers in Printmaking Conference at Illinois State University highlighted the thirtieth anniversary celebration of Normal Editions Workshop (NEW). The event featured discourse on various historical topics, highlighted current developments, and explored future directions while focusing attention on the contemporary contributions and rich heritage of printmaking and related subjects to the overall visual culture. The Border Crossings portfolio exchange and exhibition features artists from the United States, Canada, Japan, Thailand, Mexico, and South Africa. Twenty-two participating artists presented new works interpreting the theme of borders, examining the globally collaborative reach of print across geographical separation.
